(Rochester, July 2)... Jordan Henry completed his second season as a pro and member of the Rochester Americans in 2008-09. After being signed as a free agent by the Florida Panthers in 2007, the 6-foot-2 198-pound defenseman is coming off a strong performance last season, scoring four goals and adding 12 assists for 16 points to finish third among team defensemen in scoring. In his short career, the Milo, Alberta, native has totaled 24 points with 7 goals and 17 assists. On the brink of his third professional season, Henry talked with Amerks.com about his life in the offseason and the future ahead for the Amerks.

1.) What was the high point of the 2008-09 season?

When we turned it around and started winning games.

2.) Where did you go after the season ended?

I came back home to Calgary to watch my brother play hockey because I hadn't seen him play all season.

3.) When will you begin on-ice training?

I will begin on ice training sometime in early-to-mid July.

4.) What are you working on to get to the NHL?

I am working on getting faster, stronger and more consistent with my play.

5.) How do you spend your free time?

I like to golf and spend time with friends and family.

6.) What is your favorite vacation spot?

Anyplace that's warm and has a beach.

7.) Did you watch the NHL Playoffs? If so, what team were you pulling for?

Yes, I did. I wasn't really pulling for anyone, but I was surprised that Pittsburgh beat Detroit.

8.) Any plans for the summer?

A lot of training and preparation for the upcoming season, as well as some quality time with friends and family.

9.) Who is your favorite athlete?

Tiger Woods.

10.) What's one thing you can't live without?

Probably my cell phone.

11.) In the summer, do you prefer to work out or cook out?

Work out before cook out.

12.) What is your favorite junk food?

Chips.

13.) Do you use Twitter?

Nope.

14.) What is your favorite sports movie?

Major League.

15.) What do you enjoy the most about playing in Rochester?

The history that the franchise has.

16.) Who on your team is destined to become a reality TV star?

Randall Gelech.

17.) Why is hockey the best sport?

It's fast and physical.

18.) Are you looking forward to 2009-10?

Yeah, for sure. I think that we will be a lot better team than we were last year.
