Amarillo Venom Welcomes Four New Players

Amarillo, TX 4/20/12 : The Amarillo Venom is welcoming four new players, Garrett Roberson, Kendrick Bournes, Josh Harris, and Jared Williams to the 2012 team.

Garrett Roberson officially signed and joined the Amarillo Venom on Thursday, April 19th. Roberson lives in Canyon, TX. He played quarterback for one year at West Texas A&M University. The Venom is very excited to have Roberson suiting up in the red and black.

Roberson said, "I'm really excited about getting the opportunity to play for the Venom. I love the game and will definitely do my best for the team."

Kendrick Bournes, returning player for the Venom, lives in Amarillo, TX. He played middle line backer for two years at Ole Miss. Bournes officially signed and joined the Amarillo Venom on Wednesday, April 18th. The Venom is very excited to have Bournes returning to the team to help bring home that LSFL Championship.

Bournes said, "The loss of the season last year left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm ready this year to go out and win. My whole goal is to be a good influence, good player, and good leader for the team, and of course... win."

Josh Harris joined the Amarillo Venom on Thursday, April 19th. Harris lives in Canyon, TX. He played quarter back, wide receiver, and tide end at West Texas A&M University for three years. The Venom is ready to suit up Harris for an intense season of Texas arena football.

Harris said, "I am excited for the opportunity to play this game. Football is the greatest sport ever, and arena football is fast paced and a different outlet to get involved in. I know playing with the Venom will be fun, and I realize they have been working hard. I hope to join the team and mesh with the players to improve my skills, make an impact, and become an asset to the Venom."

Jared Williams joined the Venom on Wednesday, April 18th. Williams lives in LeMerque, TX. He played defensive end at Texas Tech University for two years. Williams is actually returning to the Amarillo Venom. He has previously played five years with Amarillo in the IFL. The Venom is very excited to have Williams back on the team.

Williams said, "I'm happy to be back and a part of the team. I came here to win a championship, and I know with the Venom coaching staff and athletes we can dominate the league."

The Venom is proud to be bringing two returning players back to the team. Venom head coach, Julian Reese, has played with both Bournes and Williams. Knowing the two players and being able to coach them will give the Venom a great advantage and help move the team towards a championship. Roberson and Harris are both very talented players that will be huge assets to the team. With well-rounded players and experience the Venom is sure to go far.
