Amarillo Venom News Release

AMARILLO, Texas - The Amarillo Venom, the two time defending Lone Star Football League champions, will get an early season test against archrivals the Rio Grande Valley Sol at the Cal Farley Coliseum of the Amarillo Civic Center on March 29 at 7:05 p.m. Both the Venom and the Sol have unblemished records heading into this contest.

The Venom (1-0, LSFL) are led by wide receiver DJ Beshears, who have hauled in for three touchdowns receptions against New Mexico and another one against the LEXFA All-Stars in the International Championship.

However, the Venom have steady balance in their offensive machine in fullback Undra Hendrix, who had rumbled for three touchdowns against New Mexico while rushing for two touchdown rushes and passing for another in the exhibition game against the LEXFA All-Stars.

Also of note has been the Amarillo Venom defensive unit, who had only allowed 56 points in the past two games and forced turnovers from both the Stars and the LEXFA.

On the other hand, Rio Grande Valley (1-0. LSFL) is led by quarterback and LSFL Offensive Player of the Week Nate Davis, who was 13 for 25 for 263 yards and eight touchdowns against the San Angelo Bandits on March 24. Aiding the Sol's cause is wide receiver Dennis Campbell, who had five catches for 138 yards and four touchdowns in Monday's game against San Angelo.

The festivities during the game hosted the Venom include Texas Ag Pride Night with a free mug giveaway and a halftime celebration of area champions.

The Amarillo Venom are a proud member of the LSFL. For more information and tickets, contact the Amarillo Venom office at (806) 350-7277.
