Amarillo Venom News Release

Amarillo, TX 06/26/2012 Venom will be at BSA Hospital on Wednesday June 27th at 7:30 p.m. to help one young man and his battle with illness.

Colby Cantu, a senior at Childress High School, has recently been struck with an illness that has kept him hospital bound for the last two weeks. Clay Washington and Leigh Ann Cantu were searching for a way to brighten Colby's day and speed him along to a recovery, when they came across a picture of the Venom and thought a visit from some pro football players would brighten his day and boost his confidence. The below is the request from Clay and Leigh Ann received Monday June 25th.

I am writing you in regards of Colby Cantu, son of Leigh Ann Cantu, as you may know he is a Senior at Childress High School, who 2 weeks ago was placed here at BSA in Amarilo with Eosinphlis Esophagitis, and Renal Ensuffincy. All along to top it off with Staph Infection. I have been at the hospital everyday since he was admitted sitting here talking to him about something to cheer him up. I then stumbled across a Venom picture and thought of a possible surprise from the Venom Association. I am typing this message with his mothers approval . And with this all in mind I was wondering if maybe there was a player or two that would be interested in stopping by and giving Colby a visit in this hard time. We understand that the Venom group is at full force with things already going on and if there is a brief moment where a visit could occur, Colby would love the moment and the visit would boost his confidence to get 110% better.
