Amarillo Venom seek to defend LSFL defense as training camp opens

AMARILLO, Texas - On Feb. 28, the Amarillo Venom begin their quest for a third consecutive championship as the Venomplayers willreport to training camp. For Coach Reese, there will be some familiar faces and some new names who will don the black, red and white this campaign.

The most notablereturns will be wide receivers/defensive backsRaymond Johnson, Ron Evans Jr., DontaBrightand fullback/defensive end Mark Gutierrez.Other returning playersto keep an eye on for the 2014 season will be wide receiver/defensive backShaka Harris andfullback/defensive lineman James Smith from West Texas A&M along with Eric Waltz, an offensive lineman from Oklahoma Panhandle State.

With the departure of Nate Davis, the Venom reloaded at thequarterback position with the signings of Brendan Crawford, former quarterback of the New Mexico Stars and Christian Caflisch, a rookie hailing from Texas A&M.

With so many returning players laced inwith an influx of new talentin the quarterback position, Coach Reese and the Venom will be looking forward to hoisting another LSFL championship trophy come the end of July.
