Amarillo,TX October 5, 2011: The Lone Star Football League (LSFL) has officially invited the Amarillo Venom to become a charter member of the Lone Star Football League for the 2012 inaugural season.
The Amarillo Venom enters the 2012 season as the fifth indoor professional football organization in the LSFL. The Venom who starts off their third season with new ownership will hold all their home games at the Amarillo Civic Center. The LSFL will consist of six to eight teams for the 2012 inaugural season. The Lone Star Football League as of October 5, 2011 includes the Houston Stallions, Laredo Rattlesnakes, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, Rio Grande Valley Magic, West Texas Roughnecks, and the Amarillo Venom. The League includes teams from the SIFL, the IFL, and expansion teams.
"We are excited to see a Texas only professional indoor football league. When you think of football you think of Texas. This league will allow us to showcase the best indoor professional football in America. The Lone Star Football League allows us to build in-state rivalries which will add to the excitement for our fans, "said Amarillo Venom Owner/General Manager Stephanie Tucker.
