The Amarillo Dillas snapped a five game losing streak as they hung on to defeat the Shreveport Sports 10-8 at Fair Grounds Field on Wednesday night. The loss ended the Sports two game winning streak and knocked the first out of the first place in the Eastern Division of the Central League.
Shreveport shortstop Derek Patterson attempted to carry the Sports to a victory as he drove in six runs, including two two-run home runs, the first home runs hit by a Shreveport player at Fair Grounds Field this season. Dan Meier had a three run home run for Amarillo in the third inning and finished the game with five RBI's.
Amarillo starter Jason Stockstill (1-2) walked seven, but picked up his first win of the season while Shreveport's Josh Gold (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season.
The final game of this series will be Thursday at 7:05 pm.
