Allen Americans News Release
ODESSA, Texas- The Allen Americans defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 3-1 Tuesday night at the Ector County Coliseum to stave off elimination in the best-of-five Berry Conference Semi-Final series.
Allen drew first blood early in the first on a Dave Bonk wrister which found its way past Odessa netminder Joel Martin. Mike Berube was credited with the assist on the play.
After a scoreless second period, Jarrett Lukin continued his strong postseason play, putting Allen up 2-0 at 14:45 of the third frame. Justin DaCosta and Scott Langdon tallied assists on the goal.
Phillippe Plante got Odessa back in the game at 11:36 of the third period, with Sebastien Thinel and Mike Ramsay getting the helpers.
Allen iced the game late in the period, however, when Nino Musitelli buried a goal to make it 3-1. Lukin and Bruce Graham grabbed assists on the play which put the game out of reach.
Chris Whitley was stellar in net for the Americans, stopping 39 shots en route to his fourth victory of the postseason.
The win brings the Americans to within one game in the series, and forces a Game Four, Thursday night in Odessa.
Should Allen win Thursday's contest, a deciding fifth game would take place in Allen on Friday night. Tickets for Friday night are already on sale, and can be purchased online via Ticketmaster.com, or in person at the Allen Event Center Box Office. For more information, please call 972-912-1000.
