
Albany Travels to Baltimore for First Road Trip

LAS VEGAS - The newest Arena Football League team, the Albany Empire (0-1) take their first road trip as they travel to take on the Baltimore Brigade (1-1) on Saturday, April 28 at 3 p.m. ET at Royal Farms Arena on AFL Live and Arena Football League Watch Page on Facebook. After a bye week, the Empire look to get their first win of the season. 2012 AFL MVP Tommy Grady and newly acquired 2016 Offensive Player of the Year Joe Hills are back together and look to get the Empire on the winning track. The Brigade are looking to bounce back after a tough 54-49 loss in Philadelphia. Brigade quarterback Randy Hippeard went 25-of-37 passes for 278 yards and five touchdowns last game.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
EMPIRE: Albany QB Tommy Grady completed 23-of-38 passes for 259 yards, two INTs, and five TDs in his first AFL game since 2016. Grady will be reunited with his former teammate and wide receiver Joe Hills. Hills is in his first season with the Empire. Last season with the Tampa Bay Storm, Hills recorded 129 receptions for 1,353 yards and 36 TDs. Wide receiver Greg Carr looks to continue to be a top receiving target for Grady. In Albany's first game, Carr hauled in eight receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Albany's defense leads the League in opponents' third down conversion with allowing only one out of six third down attempts. Defensive back Varmah Sonie has six total tackles, two pass breakups, and two passes defended.
BRIGADE: Baltimore QB Randy Hippeard has thrown for 47-of-68 passes for 518 yards and 10 TDs. He has also run for an additional six yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Brandon Collins leads the team in receiving touchdowns with three and has added 117 receiving yards. Wide Receiver Brandon Thompkins has hauled in 11 catches for 132 yards and one touchdown. Thompkins also specializes in kickoff returns and recorded the season's longest kick return touchdown at 55 yards last week. Defensive back Fred Obi is a force on the Brigade defense. Obi has recorded 13.5 total tackles, one pass breakup, one pass defended, and one fumble recovery.
