Albany Panthers News Release
ALBANY, GA - The 2011 Champion Albany Panthers will hold their final open tryout of the 2012 season on Saturday, February 25 at the Albany Civic Center. The facility is located at 100 West Oglethorpe Blvd., Albany, GA 31701. Panthers Head Coach Lucious Davis and his staff will be on hand to evaluate players at all positions.
"This is our last open tryout before we open training camp and a player's best opportunity to get evaluated by our coaching staff one final time," said Coach Davis. "Our previous open tryouts were a huge success and we signed extraordinary talent from those workouts. I'm expecting we can find the key players we need in this tryout to round out our 2012 Training Camp roster."
Open tryouts have long been an outlet professional teams have used to sign high quality players. In fact, the Panthers already signed WR Fred Cromartie after seeing him in action.
All participants can register the day of the workout Saturday, February 25th. The cost of the tryout is $50. All fees are cash or money order and are non-refundable. Registration will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. with the workout starting at 12 p.m.
Players will be tested on their 40-yard dash, broad jump, and 20-yard shuttle. The Panthers staff will conduct position-specific drills and one-on-ones following testing. Players are required to sign a waiver prior to participation. Testing will take place on turf - please bring appropriate shoes and workout attire.
