
Alabama Renegades Lose to Power

Alabama Renegades News Release
The Alabama Renegades held their own against the undefeated Pensacola Power for three quarters but ran out of juice at the end in a 42-18 loss.
The Renegade offense scored first in the game on a 69-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Nancy Byrd to receiver Katie Buckley. The extra point attempt was no good. The Power roared back on the next series scoring a touchdown and taking the lead, 7-6. The Renegades were held scoreless in the second quarter and Pensacola held a 14-6 halftime lead. Pensacola went on to outscore the Renegades in the third and fourth quarters 28-12.
Quarterback Nancy Byrd had 229 yards passing completing 11 out of 23 attempts with one touchdown and three interceptions. Katie Buckley led the receivers with two catches for 90 yards and a touchdown, followed by Nicole Nall who had four catches for 66 yards. Buckley and Nall also took on the rushing duties. Buckley had 19 yards on six carries with two touchdowns and Nall rushed for 33 yards on 11 carries. Buckley ended up scoring all three of the Renegades' touchdowns.
On the defensive side, linebacker Vicki Kennedy and defensive end Jennifer Patton both had stellar nights. Kennedy made 12 solo tackles with two assists and one pass defended. Patton had ten solo tackles with one assist. Defensive lineman Danielle Hendrix rounded out the list of top three tacklers with five solo tackles and two assists.
The Alabama Renegades (3-3) travel to Leighton, AL this weekend to take on the Shoals SmasHers (1-5). The Renegades won the first matchup between these two teams, 19-0.
