Alabama Renegades News Release

The Alabama Renegades Women's Full Contact Football Team will open their home season of play Saturday, May 1, when they host the Shoals SmasHers. Kick off is set for 7:00 pm at Goldsmith Schiffman Field. The Renegades (0-2) lost their first two games of the season to perennial powerhouse Pensacola Power and the up-and-coming New Orleans Blaze. The Renegades look to begin their winning ways at home Saturday.

Last weekend in New Orleans the Renegades couldn't quite get the offense rolling in a 28-7 loss. First year quarterback Katy Buckley completed 5 for 15 passing for 35 yards. She scored the lone touchdown for the Renegades on an 11-yard run in the third quarter. Running back Nicole Nall, hampered by a sore leg, was limited to 57 yards rushing. On defense, first year linebacker Vicki Kennedy made her name known recording 12 tackles in the game and recovered a fumbled punt return. Her fellow linebackers Wendy Everett and Kim Lee each made 9 tackles.

Tickets for this weekend's game may be purchased from any Renegades team member, by emailing the team at tickets@alabamarenegades.net, or by calling (256) 830-4537. Tickets are $10 prior to game day and $12 at the gate. A child's ticket is $5 and children 12 and under are free.
