EXPRESS 54, HEROES 39
HUNTINGTON, W.V. -- Tom Stetzer connected on 25 of 39 passes for 233 yards and four touchdowns to spark the Reading Express to a 54-39 win over the Huntington Heroes in a key Northern Conference game Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Field House.
Kicker Erik Rockhold set the league single-game record for points scored kicking with 18 on six PATs, a record-tying three field goals and three rouges.
Express wide receiver Carmelo Ocasio snared 13 balls for 165 yards and two scores.
Huntington (4-2), coming off a 55-33 win at Erie, opened leads on 19-0 and 25-7 before the Express rallied. On the first play of the third quarter, Stetzer hooked up with Ocasio on a 30-yard TD strike, and combined with Rockhold's PAT and rouge on the ensuing kickoff, Reading took the lead for good at 38-33.
The Heroes cut the deficit to 41-39 on Dionte' Wilson's 6-yard TD run midway through the third period, but the pass for two failed. Fred Ray had a ball picked off at the Reading 1 to thwart a drive late in the third period. In the fourth, the Express defense made two stops.
Ray was 14 of 33 for 187 yards and four touchdowns, but threw five interceptions for the Heroes.
VIPERS 73, SPARTANS 60
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Aaron Leak threw for 358 yards and nine touchdowns as the Chattahoochee Valley Vipers snapped a two-game losing streak with a victory over the Augusta Spartans in the highest scoring game in the American Indoor Football League this season.
Jasonu Tillers (nine catches for 164 yards) had five touchdowns and Garvin Graves (9-142) for the 4-3 Vipers, who used a 26-3 run in the third quarter to take control.
Augusta (2-4) cut a 21-point deficit to one score three times in the fourth quarter, but could pull no closer despite an eight-touchdown effort by Marvin Stone, with five of those going to converted quarterback Anthony Young.
Brandon Williams had 202 kickoff return yards, including a 54-yard touchdown, for the Vipers.
BANDITS 77, PHANTOMS 35
RICHMOND, Va. - Robbie Jenkins threw for 301 yards and seven touchdowns, and the Richmond Bandits defense posted a first-half shutout in a 77-35 victory over the Florence Phantoms.
The Bandits (6-1) led 34-0 at halftime.
Brian Still had 10 catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns, while Redd Thompson posted eight catches for 161 yards and four scores.
Brandon McDowell grabbed six catches for 108 yards and two Phantoms (1-5) scores.
LEGENDS 62, STAMPEDE 26
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Dan Larlham threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another while the Canton Legends defense registered four interceptions and four sacks to help them pull away from a 20-20 halftime time and defeat Steubenville.
The Legends (5-3) returned two Stampede (0-7) interceptions for touchdowns in the final 30 minutes.
Chris Archie had 11 catches for 113 yards and two scores for the Legends. Tim Smith scored on both sides of the ball with a touchdown catch and an interception return.
FREEZE 58, SILVERBACKS 28
TROY , Ohio -- The Erie Freeze used three second half touchdown receptions from Darmel Whitfield to break a 21-21 tie at halftime and propel the 6-1 Erie Freeze to a 58-28 victory over the Miami Valley Silverbacks.
Whitfield connected with David Dinkins on receptions of 4, 29, and 35 yards while Roosevelt Benjamin had an interception and fumble recovery for the "Fearsome Frozen" defense.

RENEGADES 48, THUNDER 42
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Rome's Marcus Brady rushed for four touchdowns and threw two more as the Renegades held off a Daytona Beach Thunder for a 48-42 American Indoor Football League victory before 2,104 at DBCC Public Broadcasting 15 Field at the Ocean Center Thursday night. Brady finished with 227 yards in the air and 31 on the ground.
Trailing 42-20, the Thunder (3-4) closed to 42-35 on Oscar Davenport's 4-yarder to Allen Suber with 41 seconds to play and 48-42 on Davenport's 40-yard strike to Nick Allison with 11 seconds to go. However, the Renegades (6-1) recovered both onsides kicks to maintain the lead.
Daytona Beach led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter on Andy Eminger's 1-point rouge in the first quarter, but only managed one kickoff return by Suber over the next two quarters as Rome build up a three-score lead.
Suber finished with seven catches for 43 yards and two touchdowns, while Lucas Greene had six catches for 62 and one score.
