COLUMBUS, Ga. - Andrico Hines threw for 279 yards and five touchdowns as the Chattahoochee Valley Vipers held off the Daytona Beach Thunder in the closest game in AIFL history.

Hines had four first-half scores, including one on the opening play, as the Vipers took early leads of 15-0 and 35-14. Garvin Graves finished with seven catches for 167 yards and two scores.

With its defense pitching a fourth-quarter shutout, the Thunder closed to 48-46 on Travis Wilson's 13-yarder to Robert Bailey with 50 seconds, but the Thunder could not convert the two-pointer. Daytona Beach got the ball back with 11 seconds left, but couldn't capitalize.

Wilson threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for one touchdown and a pair of two-point conversions. Bailey had five catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns in addition to a 53-yard kickoff return.

FREEZE 59, EXPRESS 40

READING, Pa. -- 2005 League MVP David Dinkins accounted for seven touchdowns - throwing for four and rushing for three - as the Erie Freeze posted the first road victory of the season and spoiled the debut of the Reading Express.

Manuel Johnson caught two of those touchdowns, and defensive back Sam Reynolds intercepted two passes, including one in the final minutes to seal the game

Carmelo Ocasio combined with Tom Stetzer on four touchdowns passes for the Express, including a 30-yarder on the game's first play.
