AIFA September Meetings Set Positive Direction for 2010
September 17, 2009 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) News Release
BALTIMORE, Maryland (September 17, 2009) - Following a successful 2009 season, the American Indoor Football Association and its member teams are shifting the focus to building more momentum in 2010.
With that backdrop, the AIFA held its September League Meetings in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past weekend. The meetings focused on renewal of the very successful AIFA Playoff Support package, vendor presentations and expansion options under consideration by the league. Owners also had a chance to meet the producer who will oversee development of the AIFA's new ten-game national television package.
"There was a lot going on and a lot of good information," said AIFA co-founder John Morris for the upcoming edition of This Week in the AIFA. "We had some very solid input from our owners in several key areas, and that was particularly pleasing to see.
"It's been a very busy off season. Keep in mind that we are currently wrapping up a few of the expansion situations we have had in the works over the past eight months now. I'm also looking to improve on our travel, which is a key to league success. It's been a very busy time, but very fruitful as well."
The AIFA has announced the addition of three expansion teams for the 2010 season. The league will welcome teams in Trenton, New Jersey, Richmond, Virginia and Wenatchee Valley, Washington. Negotiations are continuing regarding other expansion possibilities.
The AIFA will begin its fourth season of play in March of 2010. The league's Kickoff Classic will be held in Richmond, Virginia in January of 2010.
The entire interview with John Morris will be aired on the league's Internet radio program, This Week in the AIFA. The program will be released over the weekend.
