St. John's tries to pull even in the Eastern Conference Finals as Norfolk hosts Game 2 tonight... The Admirals rolled to a 6-1 win in Thursday's series opener, with defensemen scoring four of Norfolk's six goals... Mike Kostka (3-5-8) scored twice, Jean-Philippe Cote (1-1-2) netted his first goal in 33 career playoff games and Keith Aulie (1-1-2) picked up his first goal in 73 games during 2011-12... Ondrej Palat (4-3-7) had a goal and an assist in Game 1 for the Admirals and Michel Ouellet (1-2-3) scored his first postseason goal since 2005... Dustin Tokarski (5-2, 2.21, .917) finished with 29 saves in the victory... Zach Redmond (1-2-3) scored the only goal for the IceCaps, his first since Apr. 3... Norfolk, 7-for-60 on the power play through the first two rounds, was 2-for-5 in Game 1; St. John's was 1-for-7... Eddie Pasquale (7-5, 2.44, .920) allowed four goals on 21 shots before giving way to David Aebischer, who stopped 10 of 12 shots in his first Calder Cup Playoff action since 2000 with Hershey... Norfolk has outscored its opponents 12-2 in winning its last three games.
