After More Than 15,000 Ballots Are Cast, Bender, Morse and Richards Win All-Star Fan Vote

January 8, 2020 - Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) News Release

The NWHL is announcing the top players receiving votes in the All-Star Fan Vote Hat Trick one day earlier because the process turned out to be even more extraordinary than anticipated.

Between the polls opening on Friday afternoon and closing on Tuesday, NWHL players received 15,389 votes. Every player in the league, including all of the more recent additions, received at least one vote. In the end, it was a trio of league veterans earning the most selections from the fans to participate in 2020 NWHL All-Star Weekend in Boston:

Lexi Bender - the fourth-year defender from the Boston Pride who is 2-9-11 and +17 in 17 games this season.

Rebecca Morse - the fourth-year defender from the Metropolitan Riveters who is sixth on the team in scoring, with a career-best 3-4-7 in 15 games.

Audra Richards - the second-year forward from the Minnesota Whitecaps who is sixth on the team in scoring, with 4-6-10 in 14 games.

Congratulations to Lexi, Rebecca and Audra, and every player in the NWHL for inspiring such an incredible show of support. And most of all, thank you to the fans. From your attendance at games, viewership on Twitch, purchase of league, team and player apparel, and now this huge turnout for the All-Star Fan Vote Hat Trick, your dedication continues to amaze this season.

The complete rosters for #TeamDempsey and #TeamPacker will be revealed beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 9. Tickets for the NWHL Skills Challenge on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. and the 2020 NWHL All-Star Game on Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m., both at Warrior Ice Arena, are available now at NWHL.zone/tickets.
