MONUMENTOUS FEAT: FB/LB BOB MCMILLEN, who is in his 12th AFL season and fourth with Chicago, needs 11 rushing yards this week against the Los Angeles Avengers to pass FB/LB LES BARLEY, who retired in 2001 with 1,382 career rushing yards and become the AFL's all-time leading rusher.

CATCHING DARRYL: WR/LB DARRYL HAMMOND of the Nashville Kats needs three receptions to become the fourth AFL player to eclipse the 800-reception mark in a career, joining teammate WR/LB CORY FLEMING, who accomplished the feat in Week 1.

WHO SCORES MORE?: QB AARON GARCIA of the New York Dragons and QB ANDY KELLY of the Kansas City Brigade are in a weekly battle for the AFL all-time lead in touchdown passes. Garcia is currently in the lead with 745, but Kelly is right behind him with 730. Garcia needs five touchdown passes this week to become the first football player to pass for 750 career touchdowns. Realistically, both Garcia and Kelly could accumulate 800 touchdowns by the end of the season.

THREE LEFT STANDING: There are three undefeated teams in the AFL through Week 3 -- Austin Wranglers, Dallas Desperados, and Nashville Kats. At least one will fall in Week 4.

Austin and Dallas will face each other in the "Cattle Drive on I-35." Dallas features the second-highest producing offense (309.7 yards per game) in the AFL behind QB CLINT DOLEZEL and OS TERRILL SHAW. Austin has the AFL's fifth best defense (264.7 yards per game) led by DS DONVETIS FRANKLIN and WR/DB WILL PETTIS.

The Nashville Kats play host to the defending ArenaBowl Champion Colorado Crush this weekend. The Kats look to pull into a tie for first place in the Central Division and hand the Crush their first loss of the season. Colorado QB JOHN DUTTON leads the top-ranked offense (63.7 PPG) against OL/DL JAMES BARON and the Kats' top-ranked defense (37.0 PPG).


DEVASTATING DEFENSIVE DUOS: The Dragons have the two top-ranked tacklers in the AFL this season, while the Kats have the two top-ranked sack leaders. DS DAHNEL SINGFIELD (26.5) and WR/DB DASHANE DENNIS (25) lead the way for the Dragons, while FB/LB FRANK CARTER (4.0) and OL/DL JAMES BARON (2.0) rush the quarterback for the Kats. Nashville leads the league in total sacks (11.0) with almost twice as many as the next team (Chicago and Philadelphia - 6.0 sacks).

HOMECOMING: Utah Blaze head coach DANNY WHITE returns to Arizona for first time since stepping down as Rattlers' Head Coach/General Manager after 13 years of service from 1992-2004. White holds a 78-28 (.735 winning percentage) record at the U.S. Airways Center.
