
AFL players pass on baseball opportunities to pursue passion for football

NEW YORK â With the baseball season underway, a handful of AFL players are recalling a time when they played or had the option to play professional baseball. Given the athletic versatility necessary for the AFL game, it's no surprise that its players have had opportunities to play other professional sports.
"I chose to pursue football over baseball because of my love for the game, said Dallas WR/DB JASON SHELLEY, top receiver of the Eastern Division-leading Desperados. "Football has always been my favorite and I knew that I would enjoy playing it more than baseball."
