
AFL Philadelphia's Bogle Named Top Assistant

The Arena Football League announces that Philadelphia Soul Assistant Head Coach Phil Bogle has been named the 2016 Assistant Head Coach of the Year. This marks the first time Bogle has earned this recognition and the first time a member of the Soul staff has won this award.
The former All-Arena lineman enters his fifth year of coaching in the AFL, all with the Philadelphia Soul, and also serves the team as its general manager. During his time as a coach, the Soul made four postseason appearances and won two Conference Championships. He has led one of the best offensive lines in the AFL by allowing the fewest sacks in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
In 2016, OL Adam Smith (first team), OL Neal Tivis (second team), C Wayne Tribue (second team), FB Jeramie Richardson (second team), DL Jake Metz (first team), and DL Teddy Jennings (second team) all earned All-Arena honors under Bogle's tutelage. Metz also earned Defensive Lineman of the Year making him the second player to earn a Lineman of the Year Award under Bogle (Shannon Breen, 2015).
