FRIDAY'S GAMES
Chicago 62, DETROIT 45 (Attendance: 4,812): Rush WR/LB LINDSAY FLESHMAN set a career-high with three touchdowns for Chicago (4-6), including a crucial score on an interception return in the victory over Detroit (5-5). Offensive specialist ANTONIO CHATMAN amassed 256 total yards along with two touchdown receptions and a two-point conversion.
LOS ANGELES 63, Carolina 48 (Attendance: 12,117): With four different receivers catching touchdown passes, QB TONY GRAZIANI utilized all of his weapons for Los Angeles (8-2), tying a career-high with eight touchdown tosses on 15-of-21 passing for 270 yards in the victory over the Cobras (0-10).
SATURDAY'S GAMES
Grand Rapids 56, INDIANA 49 (Attendance: 13,023): Game MVP CLINT DOLEZEL completed 28-of-43 pass attempts for 330 yards and five touchdowns for Grand Rapids (7-3) in its Central Division victory over Indiana (4-6). The Rampage 's TERRILL SHAW led all receivers with nine catches for 131 yards and three touchdowns.
LAS VEGAS 68, Colorado 34 (Attendance: 9,080): Las Vegas (6-4) claimed sole position of first place in the Eastern Division by defeating Colorado (1-9). Gladiators QB JAY MCDONAGH threw five touchdowns passes and ran for two more to lead the Las Vegas to their largest margin of victory of the 2003 season.
SUNDAY'S GAMES
DALLAS 67, San Jose 64 (Attendance: 13,177): Desperados WR/DB WILL PETTIS scored on a 2-yard run with 22.3 seconds remaining and Dallas (6-4) snapped San Jose's six-game winning streak with a win against the SaberCats (7-3) at Reunion Arena. Dallas QB JIM KUBIAK passed for 303 yards and eight touchdowns.
Buffalo 46, NEW YORK 39 (Attendance: 9,064): The Destroyers defense held off New York (3-7) in the final minute of the game to secure an Eastern Division win for Buffalo (4-6). In his first AFL start, Destroyers QB CHRIS SANDERS completed 21-of-36 pass attempts for 213 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.
TAMPA BAY 58, Georgia 39 (Attendance: 12,374): The Storm (8-2) won their seventh straight game, defeating the Force (6-4) and claimed sole possession of the Southern Division lead. Game MVP FREDDIE SOLOMON caught a game-high nine passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns for Tampa Bay.
ARIZONA 62, Orlando 36 (Attendance: 13,112): Game MVP SHERDRICK BONNER completed six touchdown passes to five different receivers as the Rattlers (5-5) defeated the Predators (6-4) at America West Arena. Arizona OS TERENCE DAVIS led all receivers with eight receptions for 112 yards and three touchdowns.
