FRIDAY'S GAME
Dallas 47, CAROLINA 43 (Attendance: 6,401): Carolina had five shots inside the Dallas 10-yard line in the final minute before Dallas' (5-3) Ja'Mar Toombs sacked quarterback Robert Hall on fourth down ended the Cobras (0-8) hopes for their first victory of the season.
SUNDAY'S GAMES
Georgia 38, ORLANDO 36 (Attendance: 11,088): The Georgia Force (6-2) used a fumble in the last 15 seconds and a 30-yard field goal by Steve McLaughlin as time expired to capture a 38-35 victory over the Orlando Predators (6-2). With the win, Georgia pulled into a first-place tie with Orlando in the Southern Division.
Las Vegas 50, BUFFALO 32 (Attendance: 8,936): Game MVP Mike Horacek had 14 receptions for 182 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Las Vegas Gladiators (4-4) over the Buffalo Destroyers (3-5) and allowed them to stay in first place in the Eastern Division.
Tampa Bay 41, INDIANA 20 (Attendance: 9,457): Storm quarterback John Kaleo completed 20-of-34 pass attempts for 218 yards and four touchdowns in leading Tampa Bay (5-2) to the victory over Indiana (3-5) and its fifth win in as many weeks.
New York 54, CHICAGO 51 (Attendance: 13,805): A late Chicago (3-5) fumble caused by New York's Jermaine Miles and Rodney Filer sealed the victory for the Dragons (2-6). Dragon quarterback Aaron Garcia threw for his ninth straight 300-yard game, while offensive specialist Mike Furrey hauled in six touchdowns for the second straight week.
LOS ANGELES 61, Grand Rapids 51 (Attendance: 13,849): Los Angeles' defense held Grand Rapids (5-3) to a season-low 13 first-half points, while the Avengers' offense scored on all but two possessions. Quarterback Tony Graziani, who was named the game's MVP, led the way for the Avengers (6-2), completing 20-of-27 passes for 222 yards and seven touchdowns.
Detroit 71, COLORADO 56 (Attendance: 17,417): The Detroit Fury (4-4) defense caused four turnovers and a safety, as they ended their three-game losing streak with the victory over Colorado (1-7). Fury quarterback Andy Kelly led the offense, completing 25-of-35 for 252 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions.
SAN JOSE 59, Arizona 58 (Attendance: 13,046) San Jose's James Roe made a circus catch in the end zone on the game's final play and Daron Alcorn converted the extra point to give the SaberCats (6-2) a dramatic victory over Western Division rival Arizona (4-4) for their fifth straight win and 17th straight at home.
