AFL free agency update
October 16, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK - The Free Agency period kicked off on October 2 and in the two weeks since, 31 players have officially signed contracts with new teams. Three others re-signed with their previous team.
This past week, 2004 Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Arena selection WR MARCUS NASH, who spent the last three seasons with Las Vegas, signed with the Dallas Desperados.
Kicker CLAY RUSH, who booted a game-winning, 20-yard field goal as time expired in Colorado's ArenaBowl XIX 51-48 win over Georgia, signed with the Kansas City Brigade on Friday.
The Utah Blaze has been the most active team thus far signing six free agents, including WR/LB AARON BOONE, who registered 66 catches for 748 yards and 19 touchdowns as a rookie last season with Kansas City.
