FRIDAY'S GAMES
Cape Fear 54, ROCHESTER 28 (Attendance: 1,919): Game MVP BRYAN SNYDER completed 21-of-29 for 325 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats (8-2) past the Brigade (1-10). ANTHONY HINES had a game high 11 catches for 232 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats. MARTINO THEUS added eight receptions for 95 yards and one touchdown to lead the Brigade.
Arkansas 47, BOSSIER CITY 21 (Attendance: 3,445): PRINCE WILLIAMS caught four passes, three for touchdowns, as the Twisters (6-4) shut down the Battle Wings (3-8). CACO CARTER, who had three interceptions, returned one pick-off for a 49-yard touchdown to lead a strong defensive effort for Arkansas. The Twisters' defense sacked Bossier City QB PEYTON PERRETT four times.
SATURDAY'S GAMES
CINCINNATI 42, Green Bay 35 (Attendance: 3,283): JAMES SCOTT hauled in six balls for 147 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 37 seconds left, as the Swarm (4-7) snapped a five-game losing streak by beating the Blizzard (1-9). ANTHONY PAYTON, Game MVP, caught a game high 14 passes for 144 yards to aid in the Swarm effort. Green Bay QB RAMON ROBINSON'S four touchdown passes were overshadowed by his three costly interceptions.
Charleston 52, RICHMOND 29 (Attendance: 4,634): The Swamp Foxes (5-5) jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back against the Speed (4-6). QB JOHNNY TURMAN threw for a team-record 325 yards on 20-of-38 passing with five touchdowns and no interceptions. LEROY MCFADDEN (5 catches for 87 yards) and MIKE CHANDLER (4 catches for 73 yards) each had two touchdowns catches for the Swamp Foxes. The Speed hasn't lost six or more games since the 2000 season (9 losses).
MOHEGAN 55, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 22 (Attendance: 3,766): Game MVP LAJOHN JONES scored two of the game's first three touchdowns, helping the Wolves (7-3) build a 21-0 lead over the Pioneers (3-7). Jones rushed for two touchdowns and caught one additional score. ALLISTAIR SEBASTIEN, ADT Defensive Player of the Game, nabbed his team-leading third interception of the season. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's TERRELL JOHNSON led all receivers with four catches for 70 yards.
ALBANY 49, Norfolk 42 (Attendance: 5,569): PHIL TAYLOR'S three-yard touchdown reception with one second left in regulation pushed the Conquest (9-1) past the Nighthawks (5-5). Taylor, Ironman of the Game, led all Conquest receivers with three touchdowns on seven catches for 80 yards. COREY HILL hauled in 12 receptions for 124 yards and one touchdown for Albany. Both QBs threw six touchdowns, as Albany's RYAN VENA completed 27-of-46 for 285 yards with one interception and Norfolk's AARON SPARROW went 14-of-22 passing for 225 yards with no interceptions. The Conquest has won seven straight games.
Florida 60, MACON 49 (Attendance: 2,718): Game MVP KEN MASTROLE completed 23-of-31 passes for 318 yards and eight touchdowns as the Firecats (5-5) upended the Knights (6-4). CAINON LAMB, Ironman of the Game, hauled in nine passes for 91 yards and four touchdowns, while teammate MAGIC BENTON had 10 receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Macon's JACQUES RUMPH and ANTHONY SNEAD combined to make 18 catches for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Macon's JERMAINE ALFRED threw for 326 yards, but was handicapped by three picks.
Birmingham 51, MEMPHIS 36 (Attendance: 3,289): The Steeldogs (6-4) used four rushing touchdowns from four different players to run past the Xplorers (3-7) and win its third straight game. ARYVIA HOLMES led all receivers with 10 receptions for 122 yards, but he was kept out of the endzone. Memphis' ADRIAN BURNETTE led the Xplorers with seven catches for 103 yards and three touchdowns. WILLIAM MAYES, ADT Defensive Player of the Game, recorded three of the Steeldogs' four sacks.
QUAD CITY 55, Louisville 30 (Attendance: 6,298): TONY ZIMMERMAN threw for 334 yards and seven touchdowns as the Steamwheelers handled the Fire and won its ninth consecutive game. JEFF HEWITT had four of Zimmerman's touchdown passes, catching eight total passes for 116 yards. Teammate IRA GOOCH hauled in six passes for 115 yards and one touchdown. ASA FRANCIS, who earned Game MVP and ADT Defensive Player of the Game honors, had seven tackles, a forced fumble and three sacks.
TENNESSEE VALLEY 66, Columbus 20 (Attendance: 5,711): RONNEY DANIELS, Ironman of the Game, caught four passes for 68 yards and three touchdowns as the Vipers (10-0) destroyed the Wardogs (2-8). MATT SAUK, who earned Game MVP honors, completed 19-of-34 for 251 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. The Vipers' JIMMY FREEMAN, who forced two fumbles and tallied three sacks on the mobile SHERARD POTEETE, was named the ADT Defensive Player of the Game.
Wichita 54, SAN DIEGO 53 (Attendance: 4,732): BRIAN LIVINGSTON'S 26-yard touchdown reception with 11 seconds was the difference for the Stealth (7-4) over the Riptide (4-7). San Diego's RYAN GEISLER barely missed a 36-yard field goal at the buzzer. ANTHONY BUICH completed 21-of-34 passes for 261 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. He also ran for one of the Stealth's three rushing touchdowns.
BAKERSFIELD 45, Tulsa 40 (Attendance: 4,411): Game MVP ERIC MAHANKE caught seven passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 2:00 minutes left as the Blitz (5-6) edged the Talons (9-2). TACOMA FONTAINE led all receivers with 125 yards on seven receptions with two touchdowns. Bakersfield's CHAD ELLIOTT completed 19-of-35 for 221 yards and four touchdowns with one interceptions, and he rushed for an additional score. Tulsa's CRAIG STRICKLAND went 15-of-37 for 219 yards and five touchdowns, but also threw three interceptions. Tulsa K TONY DODSON nailed two 50-yard field goals in the game.
HAWAII 44, Peoria 43 (Attendance: 3,089): NIAN TAYLOR, Game MVP caught an 11-yard touchdown with 1:41 left in the game to lift the Islanders (8-3) over the Pirates (3-7). Taylor had eight catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns overall. The Pirate's final drive ended when QB CHARLIE PETERSON threw his third interception of the night. Peterson was 18-of-35 for 239 yards with three touchdowns, and he rushed for a score. Hawaii's MIKE TILLIS completed 17-of-27 for 279 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Tillis also ran for a touchdown. ANTHONY ARCENEAUX, who was named ADT Defensive Player of the game, had two interceptions including the pick on Peoria's last drive of the game.
