CHICAGO - Everett wide receiver/defensive back MILTON MYERS, Louisville quarterback BRETT DIETZ, and Arkansas wide receiver/defensive back DELENELL REID have been named the U.S. Army Ironman, Schutt Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Week 12 of the 2006 season. In addition to these three awards, the recipient of the Cutters Catch of the Week Award goes to Albany wide receiver/defensive back DEONTE TAYLOR. The Catch of the Week is a new honor that highlights the player who makes the best catch of the week.

U.S. ARMY IRONMAN OF THE WEEK

Myers (5-9, 160, Mississippi Delta JC), in his rookie af2 season, was an impact player on both sides of the ball for the Everett Hawks in the team's 50-41 West Division road win at Stockton in Week 12. Myers was especially effective on offense, leading all receivers with nine catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns. The Greenville, Miss. native also registered a team-high five tackles on defense, one pass breakup and a key third quarter interception in his own end zone that prevented a score by Stockton. This is the first Ironman of the Week honor of Myers' career.

SCHUTT OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dietz (6-4, 220, Hanover) turned up the head for Louisville in the Fire's 86-66 Week 12 road win against their East Division rivals, the Albany Conquest. The rookie signal caller earned his second consecutive Offensive Player of the Week Award by throwing for a new Arena Football record (AFL & af2) 12 touchdown passes. Dietz's 12 touchdown passes broke the six-year old af2 mark of 11 set by Jon Nielsen of Arkansas on June 3, 2000. The AFL record is also 11 touchdown passes, a mark hit on three occasions in League history. Dietz also completed 23-of-31 passes for 314 yards and zero interceptions against the Conquest. The former Hanover Panther leads the af2 in passing touchdowns (71), completion percentage (71.5), pass efficiency (127.9) and total touchdowns (76).

ADT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Reid (5-10, 175, Houston), a second-year af2 player, was a stalwart in the secondary for Arkansas as the Twisters scored a 41-38 Week 12 home win against Rio Grande Valley. The former Cougar had a game-high 12 solo tackles and a season-high two interceptions (26 INT return yards). He also recorded a game-high three pass break ups. This is the first Defensive Player of the Week Award of Reid's career. He is the sixth Twister to be honored by the league in 2006.

CUTTERS CATCH OF THE WEEK

Albany wide receiver/defensive back DeOnte Taylor (5-9, 175, Portland State), who is in second season in the af2, is the Week 12 recipient of the Cutters Catch of the Week Award, a weekly honor that has emerged this year to highlight the player who makes the best catch of the week. Taylor's catch was a diving, 31-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter from QB Ryan Vena. Taylor's individual effort wasn't enough to propel the Conquest to victory as Albany fell victim to a red-hot Louisville squad, 86-66. in addition to his touchdown catch, the Portland State alum also collected 3.0 tackles on defense. Others receiving consideration this week included Arkansas' Jon Schoonover, Bossier-Shreveport's Vernard Abrams, Green Bay's Luke Leverson, Manchester's Steve Gonzalez, Stockton's Atnas Maeko, Florida's Magic Benton, Central Valley's LaMonte Jones and Birmingham's Bobby Keyes.

U.S. Army Ironman of the Week candidates included: Louisville's Lance Taylor, Oklahoma City's Al Hunt, W-B/Scranton's Leroy McFadden, Arkansas' Steve Watson, Bossier-Shreveport's Nick Codutti, Tulsa's James Sadler, Florida's Ethenic Sands, Central Valley's Wes Borba, South Georgia's Blake Saunders and Birmingham's Bradley Chavez.

Schutt Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Oklahoma City's Jarrail Jackson, W-B/Scranton's Leroy McFadden, Rio Grande Valley's Mel Long, Tennessee Valley's Torrey Day, Manchester's D. Bryant, Stockton's Kenyatte Morgan, Macon's Chavis McCollister, Central Valley's Scott Rislov, South Georgia's Chris McKinney and Birmingham's Alex Walls.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Louisville's Jeremy Chandler, Bakersfield's Jerry Turner, W-B/Scranton's Jaime Hattley, Bossier-Shreveport's Brandon Campbell, Manchester's Brian Mance, Everett's Adrian Cockfield, Florida's Corey Bailey, Central Valley's Kenny Haslip, Green Bay's Dontrell Jackson and Birmingham's Bradley Chavez.
