
Admirals Advance to Eastern Conference Finals

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals will open the third round of the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs on Thursday night at Norfolk Scope Arena, as they begin a best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals series against either the St. John's IceCaps or Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The Admirals defeated the Connecticut Whale in six games to win their Eastern Conference Semifinals Series, four games to two. Norfolk is the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing the 2011-12 regular season with a 55-18-1-2 record for 113 points.
Norfolk will host home games on the following dates:
Game 1 - Thursday, May 17, 7:15 p.m., Norfolk Scope Arena (Game H)
Game 2 - Saturday, May 19, 8:00 p.m., Norfolk Scope Arena (Game I)
*Game 6 - Tuesday, May 29, 7:15 p.m., Norfolk Scope Arena (Game J)
*Game 7 - Wednesday, May 30, 7:15 p.m., Norfolk Scope Arena (Game K)
*If necessary
Fans should use tickets labeled "Game H" for the game on Thursday, May 17, at Norfolk Scope Arena. Fans should use tickets labeled "Game I" for the game on Saturday, May 19, at Norfolk Scope Arena.
If Games 6 and 7 at Norfolk Scope Arena are necessary, fans should use tickets labeled "Game J" for the game on Tuesday, May 29, and "Game K" for the game on Wednesday, May 30.
Tickets will go on sale at 12:00 noon tomorrow, Saturday, May 12th, through Ticketmaster. You can charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000 or go online to ticketmaster.com. Tickets will go on sale at the Scope Box Office on Monday at 10:00 a.m. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m., or 10:00 a.m. through game time on Admirals game days.
In the Eastern Conference Finals, Norfolk will face the winner of the other Eastern Conference Semifinals series between the St. John's IceCaps and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The series is currently tied, 3-3, with a decisive Game 7 slated for Saturday night in St. John's, Newfoundland.
The IceCaps defeated the Syracuse Crunch in four games to win their first-round Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series, three games to one. St. John's is the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing the 2011-12 regular season with a 43-25-5-3 record for 94 points, winning the Atlantic Division regular season title. The Admirals (3-1-0-0) won three of four contests against St. John's in the 2011-12 regular season - the IceCaps' first in the American Hockey League.
The Penguins defeated the Hershey Bears in five games to win their first-round Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series, three games to two. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is the #4 seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing the 2011-12 regular season with a 44-25-2-5 record for 95 points, finishing second to the Admirals in the East Division. The Admirals (8-2-0-0) won eight of ten contests against the Penguins in the 2011-12 regular season. Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton have met twice before in the Calder Cup Playoffs, with the Penguins winning the 2007 and 2011 East Division Semifinals, each time in six games. The Admirals have four wins and eight losses all-time against the Penguins in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Individual ticket prices for the third round of the Calder Cup Playoffs are $24.50 for Gold, $21.50 for Red and $19.50 for White. Fans receive a discount when purchasing playoff tickets in advance of the day of the game, with $21 tickets for Gold, $18 tickets for Red and $16 tickets for White.
