
Adirondack Red Wing Alumni team to battle UHL Commissioner\'s Team to benefit charities

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO -- The United Hockey League and the Adirondack Frostbite member club announced Thursday, that prior to the 2005 Pepsi UHL All-Star Classic, the Adirondack Red Wing Alumni and the UHL Commissioner's Team will duke it out to benefit the Ronald McDonald House and the Tri-County United Way.
"The celebrity showdown is making noise around the industry. Former UHL and NHL players, ESPN personalities and partners of the UHL will help kick off the most highly anticipated event of the season," stated UHL President/CEO Richard Brosal.

The Alumni Game will commence at 6:00 p.m. EST. Following the UHL All-Star Classic, Red Wing Alumni game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off to fans.
"The Ronald McDonald House appreciates all that the Frostbite, UHL, its players and fans contribute. The money raised through the jersey auction will allow us to help more sick children in the North County/Capital Region on their way to recovery," stated Resident House Manager Debbie Ross.
"Our United Way is very appreciative of Barry Melrose and the Frostbite's generous offer to donate part of the All-Star proceeds to our annual campaign. Barry and the team have shown that they are great supporters of the North County and this contribution will reach many who need the help. Ninety-nine cents of every dollar raised in our annual campaign stays here in our community," stated Tri-County United Way Executive Director Doug Burch.
The Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for parents and families of sick children. The organization has served over 14,000 children in the North County and is based out of Albany, NY with a focus on Albany Children's hospital. They also provide grants for non-profits whose programs enhance the lives of children.
Tri-County United Way and its funded agencies and programs serve all who live or work in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties. This year 22 different agencies are funded through the Tri-County United Way, Our 2004 Campaign is ongoing and has a goal of $955,000.
Tickets for the 2005 UHL All-Star Classic being held at the Glens Falls Civic Center are on sale now by calling 798-0202 or by stopping by the Civic Center Box Office between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Ticket prices include admission for both the Alumni and All-Star Games. WINE WITH THE WINGS
Tickets for the Wine Tasting event with the Adirondack Red Wings, open to the public, are $20 for season ticket holders and $30 for the general public. The Wine Tasting Event will follow the Adirondack Frostbite game against the Motor City Mechanics on January 22, 2005. The event will be held in the lobby of the Queensbury Hotel and will feature twenty different wine vendors, a variety of foods and your own wine guide to take home at the end of the night. All proceeds from the event will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Glens Falls.
