Aces to Host Canadian Summer Tryouts
April 8, 2021 - North American Rugby League (NARL)
Ottawa Aces News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Aces will be holding elite level, by invitation only trials in the Summer of 2021. The trials will take place in Ottawa and the primary focus will be on selecting the best local talent from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. In addition to our local base, we will be looking for Canadians from all over the country, therefore Canadian, or Canadian based athletes are encouraged to apply, and all will be considered. The club is committed to offering at least 16 professional contracts to Canadians for the 2022 season.
Rugby League is one of the toughest, most exciting sports on the planet. It requires strength, skill, bravery, and athleticism. The Ottawa Aces believe these are qualities Canadian athletes have in abundance.
Aces GM Gareth Reid explains the process; "Whether you're a football player, rugby player, hockey player or just a gifted athlete who thinks you can play the greatest game of all, this is your chance to prove it. If selected you will be invited to join the club for an initial 5-6 week paid trial period and those successful at the end will be awarded a full time professional contract with the club for 2022. This trial will include playing in the Canada Cup vs the Toronto Wolfpack."
This combine / tryout is for Canadian and Canadian-based athletes only. Athletes from all sports are encouraged to send in their sporting resumés along with access to highlights and game footage from their sport to the club via info@ottawaaces.com.
Successful applicants will be contacted by club staff for further discussions.
