LAKE CHARLES, LA - The Abilene Ruff Riders held a press conference today at the Abilene Regional Airport to announce their new affiliation with the Southern Indoor Football League.
After much deliberation, the Ruff Riders chose to join the SIFL for the upcoming 2011 season. "We share the same vision as the SIFL and look forward to entertaining fans for years to come", said owner Scott Anderson. It's all about offering affordable family entertainment to our fans. We like the SIFL's modest business model and believe the best is yet to come, Anderson said.
General Manager Brett Quigley stated, "I believe our fans will enjoy this style of play even more as it's closer to the actual arena game - fast paced and high scoring. One of my focuses this season will be to help develop rivalries with teams close to home."
