
ABA to participate in Circle City Classic Festival

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it would be participating in a number of activities associated with one of the city's premiere events - the Circle City Classic Football Game Weekend produced by Indiana Black Expo. According to Jolie Dalton, ABA Director of Special Projects, "The ABA will receive tremendous exposure during the weekend of activities that run from Friday, September 30th thru Sunday, October 1st."
Ms. Dalton added, "To begin, the ABA & VisABILITY Marketing and Consulting Group will sponsor a Circle City Classic Kick-Off Corporate Networking Affair at the Subterra Lounge, 250 South Meridian Street from 8-11pm on Friday with live jazz being provided by the well known Protocol. Incidentally, a portion of the proceeds from the evening will go to the Red Cross of Indianapolis for the Hurrican Katrina victims that have been relocated to Indianapolis and surrounding areas."
"On Saturday, former Indiana Pacer and Miami Heat legend and now co-owner of the ABA Florida Pitbulls will be appearing in the Circle City Classic Parade along with Ricardo Richardson, ABA Executive Vice President and me. The Parade will be carried on WISH-TV, Channel 8 in Indianapolis and other stations around the country and about 100,000 people are expected to attend. Obviously, we'll also be talking about the new ABA Indy Alley Cats that begin play this November."
"And finally, Tim Hardaway will be on the field at Half Time of the great 22nd Circle city Classic Football Game that pits Tennessee State University against North Carolina A & T University. 50,000 people are expected to attend and the game will be telecast on BET with over 1,000,000 viewers expected."

It, along with the Circle City Classic, generate millions of dollars that are used for healthcare, education, jobs, housing and other worthy projects. And incidentally, many ABA owners will be here for the ABA League Meeting and will be taking part in the activities."
