Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it would name the first round playoff teams on Monday, March 6th. The teams will include those ranked 9-16 against eight wild card teams with the winners to play the top eight ranked teams the following week. Teams will be vying to compete in The Great Eight - the ABA Championship Playoffs - to be held at The Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY from March 22-26.

According to Ricardo Richardson, ABA EVP, "Our phones and emails have been very busy from teams jockeying for position as every team is eager to be included in The Great Eight, what looks to be a fabulous tournament. Our answer is always - all you have to do is win your games and you'll be there."

Final rankings of the ABA teams will be posted on Tuesday, March 7th, including for the first time, the rankings of the eight wild card teams. For more information, visit www.rochesterrazorsharks.com or www.abalive.com.
