ABA suspends President/Chief Operating Officer

November 12, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that Quentin Townsend, President and Chief Operating Officer for the league, has been suspended and relieved of all duties pending the outcome of a "theft by deception" charge filed by the prosecutor of Forsythe County, Georgia.

In a statement released by Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "We are very distressed by this news and felt it was in the best interests of the league to suspend Quentin pending resolution of the charges. We will not comment on the allegations and will leave it to the judicial system to determine his guilt or innocence. Quentin has been an excellent President and team owner and we hope for a positive result."
