ABA names new Vice President - Special Projects

February 8, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Kansas City, MO. Jim Clark, ABA CEO, today announced that Ricardo Richardson has been named Vice President - Special Projects by the league. According to Clark, "Ricardo brings to the ABA a valuable array of unique skills. His background, particularly in the area of business and corporate development and finance, is extraordinary. We are pleased to have a person with his experience as part of the ABA team."

Richardson has served as Chairman/CEO of Verias Consulting, LLC, an Indianapolis-based company focusing on business and corporate development, technology, management consulting, and investment banking. He was co-founder/CEO of RealMed, a publicly-traded technology and internet-based portal company; was Executive Vice President of Finance of Eclipse America Corporation, a customized software and network systems integration company, and Senior Forecast Analyst for transportation giant Roadway, a freight logistics company.

Richardson stated, "I am really looking forward to working with the ABA. I am an avid basketball fan and player having played college ball. I love the ABA and what it is trying to achieve. I am particularly impressed with its major efforts in diversification - at the team ownership level and now at the league management level. It is little wonder that the league is growing as it is. As VP - Special Projects, it will allow me to work closely at the league and team level in my areas expertise and hopefully help the league grow even faster."

The ABA has recently announced the addition of five new expansion teams for next season to complement the present seven teams. Clark added, "And we've only just begun with our expansion."
