ABA Expands to Gainesville, Florida

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Associaiton (ABA) today announced that it will add a team in Gainesville, Florida for the upcoming season. "The Southeast Division is shaping up to be one of our best divisions," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. "And Patrick Grayson and his Gainesville team is a great addition to the division which includes five teams in Georgia and five in Florida. It is going to be very competitive to say the least."

Patrick Grayson grew uip in a small town in the mountains of Tennissee and started his basketball playing w four years at Johnson County high school. Undersized, he grew six inches his freshman year in college and went on to play in the LA Summer Pro League for six years where he was a standout being compared to Jason Williams. From 2007-2009, he played for Riga in the Euro Basket Summer League and was selected to the USA Select team. However, owning a professional basketball team was his passion and goal and last year, purchased a team and went on to win the league championship. "It was at this point I called Mr. Newman and said I am ready to be in the ABA," added Grayson. "I knew we could be successful on and off the court and it was just a matter of selecting a city. After great consideration, we chose Gainesville, Florida and we are thrilled to be part of the league."
