ABA announces final conferences and divisions

October 16, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release


Indianapolis, IN. Ricardo Richardson, ABA Executive Vice President, today announced the final Conferences and Divisions for the progressional basketball league that begins play in two weeks.

According to Richardson, "It has been difficult finalizing the conferences and divisions due to the changes in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the addition of our new Chinese team. But, thanks to the cooperation of our great team owners, we were finally able to work things out. There was one major change, however, the Louis Dampier Division was eliminated for the 2005 season. With our expected expansion next year, we will re-align and put the Louis Dampier Division back into the league. He was a great player, a true ABA legend - and he'll be back."

RED CONFERENCE
Spencer Haywood Division: LA Aftershock, Aoshen Olympian of Maywood, Tijuana Dragons, Orange County Buzz, SoCal Legends, Las Vegas Rattlers, Inglewood Cobras.
Ron Boone Division: Bellevue Blackhawks, Tacoma Navigators, Bellingham Slam, San Francisco Pilots, San Jose SkyRockets, Fresno Heatwave, Hawaii MegaForce.

WHITE CONFERENCE
Freddie Lewis Division: Pittsburgh Xplosion, Indiana Alley Cats, Kentucky Colonels, Toledo Ice, Lake Erie Rockers, Ohio Aviators, Detroit Wheels.
George Gervin Division: St. Louis Flight, Texas Tycoons, Kansas City Knights, Lincoln Thunder, New Mexico Style, Gallup Talons.

BLUE CONFERENCE
Roger Brown Division: Boston Frenzy, Montreal Matrix, Strong Island Sound, Newark Express, Harlem Strong Dogs.
Connie Hawkins Division: Rochester Razorsharks, Buffalo Rapids, NE Penn Breakers, Maryland Nighthawks, Niagara DareDevils.
Marvin Barnes Division: Mississippi Stingers, Birmingham Magicians, Atlanta Vision, Reigning Knights of Georgia, Florida Pit Bulls.
Moses Malone Division: Baltimore Pearls, Richmond Generals, Chattanooga Steamers, Charlotte Krunk, Nashville Rhythm.
