Bloomington Edge News Release

The Bloomington Edge signed QB Jonathan Bane (6'4" 210) from Temple Texas for the 2016 season. Last season, Bane threw for 55 TDs en route to winning the PIFL Offensive Player of the Year for the Richmond Raiders. Bane (Dakota Wesleyan) was a four year starter behind center and set school single season and career records for passing yards and touchdowns. He threw for over 9,000 yards in his career and logged 85 touchdowns. A three time all-conference selection, Bane threw for 457 yards in a 2012 game to set the school record.

"I'm happy to be on board with the Edge and I am looking forward to working with Coach Johnson to create a top-tier offense in Bloomington," said Bane.

In addition to signing Bane, the Edge welcome back standout WR Daron Clark. Most recently, he was with the Richmond Raiders of the PIFL, where he teamed up with new Edge QB Jonathan Bane. Clark (Stillman) has extensive pro experience in the AFL, having played for Orlando, Spokane, and Cleveland, as well as the CFL and UFL. He was a dangerous receiver and kick returner at Stillman, and was named all-conference punt returner. After participating in Cleveland Browns minicamp, he played a season in the UFL before signing with the eventual Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes. His speed and familiarity with the 50-yard field should make him an immediate part of the mix at wide receiver. Clark played for the Edge in 2013, and we are excited to have this QB-WR duo in B-N!

"Adding Jonathan and Daron gives our offense an immediate upgrade, and I am excited to see their talents on the field," said head coach John Johnson.
