Columbus Beast News Release
The Columbus Beast Professional Football Team, led by Owner and General Manager, LaMonte Coleman is proud to announce the hiring of former Toledo Rocket signal caller, Chris Wallace, as the Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel.
Wallace, a Springfield, OH native, is the Arena Football League 2's (AF2) all-time leader in passing yardage. He recently coronated his illustrious indoor football career with an Ultimate Bowl III Championship while playing in his final game with the Florida Tarpons.
"I am proud to have a seasoned arena veteran signal caller as the Head Coach", Team Owner, LaMonte Coleman stated. "I'm counting on his ability to both recruit and teach players who understand the arena game and am confident that his hard work will put us in position to contend for a XIFL championship."
Wallace currently sits at 6th all-time in University of Toledo history for passing yards in a career. In 2011, he was briefly the starting quarterback of the Arena Football League's (AFL) New Orleans Voodoo, starting two games and winning one. In the same season, he was named the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Power.
Coach Wallace will be holding a tryout in Columbus, Ohio at the Stars Indoor Sports Facility on June 29th. Information on registration for that tryout will be released at a later date.
