Wichita Wild News Release
WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wild Professional Indoor Football team is thrilled to announce the re-signing of Quarterback Marcus Jackson for the 2013 season. Marcus led the Wild to the conference championship game last season with his versatile passing and running abilities.
Wild General Manager John Blazek was excited about the abilities Jackson brings to the team. "Marcus is a duel threat quarterback who can beat you with his arm and his legs, add in his experience from last year, there is no doubt he will be a solid playmaker on next year's team." Blazek was also impressed with Jackson's character both on and off the field as a positive role model for the community.
Marcus Jackson, a former TCU Horned Frog, showed plenty of growth in his first season for the Wild passing for 928 Yards in the regular season completing 53% of his throws. Marcus displayed his athleticism by running for 323 yards in the regular season with 9 TD's on the ground. Jackson threw for 19 touchdowns last season giving up only 9 interceptions as he led the Wild through an impressive late season push into the playoffs. Once in the playoffs Marcus elevated his game earning an 83.9 QB Rating throwing 2 TD's, running for 3 and no interceptions.
Jackson's electric style of play will be entertaining to fans across the league as well as tremendous threat to teams in the league this season. The Wild continue to build their roster for the hunt for a championship in the new CPIFL this spring.
