
FC Edmonton Adds Three More to Roster

Fifteen players have signed contracts and are ready for training camp with a few more players set to come onboard over the next few days.
The latest three players to sign professional contracts with FC Edmonton are defender Alex Surprenant, midfielder Dominic Oppong, and striker Paul Craig.
Surprenant hails from La Belle Province. The 21-year-old played at high levels throughout his youth soccer career in Quebec before joining the Montreal Impact reserve team in 2007. He made the first team a year later and played two seasons with the Impact, winning a championship in 2009 and playing in the CONCACAF Champions League in 2008. Surprenant has played at the junior levels for the Canadian National team since 2005.
Oppong is originally from Kumasi, Ghana but grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. The 25-year-old played two years with the University of Cincinnati and won the Big East Championship, earning Newcomer of the Year honours along the way. Oppong transferred to the University of Buffalo in his junior year where he earned 2nd Team All-MAC honours and the Coaches ¬â¢ Award. Oppong has pro experience with the Harrisburg City Islanders in the USL-2 and played for the Canadian National team at the U17 and U20 levels.
Craig is a 22-year-old from Prince Edward Island. He played three years at UPEI where he won Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Athlete of the Year honours while being named to the conference All Star team and an All-Canadian. Craig spent seven months in Holland training with NEC Nijmegen and played for the Thunder Bay Chill in the PDL before returning to school at the University of Saskatchewan.
Player signings continue at FC Edmonton and the club leaves for training camp in Arizona on Sunday, March 6.
