In the annual Major League Soccer SuperDraft Friday, 39 players with USL experience in the Premier Development League or Super Y-League were selected in the four-round, 56-player event. Ventura County Fusion defender Chance Myers was the first overall pick by Kansas City. PDL Defender of the Year David Horst, Hampton Roads Piranhas, was taken 14th by Real Salt Lake. Former USL First Division 2002 MVP Leighton O'Brien, a previous New England third round draft pick, saw his younger brother Ciaran taken fourth overall by Colorado after a All-League season for the Tacoma Tide.
