
31 Former Prospect League Players Taken in MLB Draft

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Prospect League was well represented in this year's Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft, as 31 former players were selected by MLB organizations.
Every team currently in the league, except for the two newcomers this season in Kokomo and Jamestown, had at least one player selected in the draft. Two former teams also saw former players drafted.
The West Virginia Miners and Quincy Gems led the way with five former players getting the call, while the Springfield Sliders, Quincy Gems, and Hannibal Cavemen all had four players drafted.
The Butler BlueSox, Terre Haute REX, and the Lorain County Ironmen each saw three players selected.
The Chillicothe Paints and Danville Dans each had two players drafted.
The Champion City Kings and Slippery Rock Sliders each had one player taken.
