Saint John Riptide News Release

Manchester, New Hampshire: The #4 ranked Texas Tycoons will pay a surprise visit to Manchester this Saturday to face the #3 Manchester Millrats (18-9) at 7:05 pm.

The Tycoons were invited to Manchester as a replacement for the Westchester Phantoms who headed to Singapore for two games against Beijing.

Texas, runners up to the Vermont Frost Heaves in last season's ABA title game, are currently 9-1 on the season. The high octane Tycoons are led by guard Mario Kinsey and 6'6 forwards Tyrone Rason and Donald Gray. The Tycoons' potent offense generates a league-best 134 points per game, and their 36 point average margin of victory is also number one in the ABA.

The Millrats have some firepower of their own, averaging 116 points per game. They are led by 5'11 guard Anthony Anderson who averages 22.9 points on 69% shooting from the field. His backcourt mate, Al Stewart adds 14 points and 6.6 assists per game. 6'6 forward PJ Young has posted five straight games with 20 or more points. The Millrats recently defeated the #1 ranked Vermont Frost Heaves for a 4th time, 98-95 on Saturday.

"We invited Texas because we thought it would be a great matchup for the ABA and for our fans to see," explained Millrats General Manager Ian McCarthy, "they are certainly one of the elite teams in the League and a very exciting team to watch."

The Millrats would like to invite all fans of sport and entertainment to attend a game or two next weekend. Tickets are just $9.75 for adults and $6.75 for kids 17 and under. All SNHU students and faculty get in FREE with a valid school ID. Groups of 20 or more may book in advance and pay just $5.50 per person. Tickets are available at the door, online at www.manchestermillrats.com, or by calling 1-866-9-GET-TIX. Doors open one hour prior to tip off.

All Millrats games are events! Each game features fast paced, exciting basketball in addition to quality entertainment such as the Pink Sapphire Dancers, Milly the Millrat, live singers, and a halftime performance.
