Chattanooga Red Wolves SC News Release

1. Red Wolves Look to Take Another Key Step Towards Securing Home Field Playoff Advantage

The Red Wolves can move one step closer to securing a first round bye and home field advantage in the USL League One playoffs when they welcome Toronto FC II on Saturday night. The last match saw the Red Wolves get an all-important three points on the road against North Carolina by a final tally of 3-2.

Obleda's side trailed in the match after conceding in the 48th minute, but a rapid-fire double courtesy of Jorge Luna and Marky Hernandez was enough to earn a crucial victory. The last time the Red Wolves faced Toronto was away across the border where they broke the USL League One record for longest unbeaten run-in league history, securing a crucial point with a reduced roster!

The Red Wolves created eight chances in the match to Toronto's and defended brilliantly during the match. An inspired performance from Tim Trilk and the backline limited the TFC attack and secured the draw.

2. Toronto FC II Continues to Try to Secure a Spot in the USL League One Playoffs

After winning only one of their previous nine matches, Toronto have rattled off two straight wins and continue to attempt to put themselves inside the top six for a spot in the postseason.

A 3-0 win against North Carolina FC in Toronto was followed up by a crucial 1-0 win against the New England Revolution II. Center back Kevin Politz was the difference in the match, heading home a corner in the 24th minute for the only goal in the match. Mike Munoz and his side did well to absorb pressure from the Revolution throughout the match, securing three points with only 34% possession and less than half of New England's accurate passes, (214-495).

Toronto, Tucson, North Texas and Tormenta all jockey for the spot with only three points separating the four sides.

3. What to Watch for and What to Expect

The regular season home finale at CHI Memorial Stadium kicks off at 7 PM EST on Saturday night. The Red Wolves clinched a playoff spot already following New England's 1-0 win over Forward Madison, ensuring postseason football for Obleda and the squad.

An impressive season has seen the club set team records for wins (11), points (43 and counting), goal difference (10) as well as road victories (4). The reward for all of the broken records will be the club's first ever visit to the USL League One Playoffs, with a chance to clinch home field advantage with a win over Toronto FC II and either a Greenville draw or loss in their home match against the New England Revolution on Saturday night.

The all-important regular season home finale at CHI Memorial has an official start time of 7 PM EST on Saturday night, as the Red Wolves look to clinch home field advantage in the USL League One Playoffs against Toronto FC II.
