2010 CHL All-Star Game On-Ice Officials Announced

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the on-ice officials that will work the 2010 CHL All-Star Game scheduled for Wednesday, January 13 at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas. The referee for the game will be Tom Steinel and will be joined by linesmen Chris Petrin and Pat Smith.
"These officials have worked very hard over the course of this and previous seasons and have earned this opportunity," said Wayne Bonney, CHL Officiating Supervisor. "Working an All-Star game is a tremendous honor and I know these three guys will be as excited as the players to be a part of the festivities in Laredo."
Steinel is in just his second season in the CHL previously working three seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and four seasons in the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL). This is his first all-star appointment.
Petrin has been officiating for just four years with this being his third season in the CHL. He previously played hockey for the University of Guelph and hails from Guelph, Ontario. Petrin was one of the selected linesmen to work last year's Ray Miron President Cups Finals.
Smith is in his third season in the CHL after working four seasons in the Ottawa District Hockey Association. During each of his first two seasons, the Bainsville, Ontario native worked the Finals and this is his second straight all-star appointment. Smith also works the lines for select American Hockey League (AHL) games.
The 2010 CHL All-Star Game features a South Texas All-Star Team (comprised of players from Laredo, Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley) taking on a team of CHL All-Stars.
