BOARDMAN, OH- The Mahoning Valley Thunder will be holding an open tryout for the 2009 season. The tryout is scheduled for Friday, February 13th from 12-4 p.m. at the Mayor Ralph A. Infante Wellness Center. (213 Sharkey Road. Niles, OH 44446). The tryout with be held under the direction of Mahoning Valley Thunder Head Coach Mike Hold.
All Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Defensive Backs, Linebackers and Offensive/Defensive Lineman are invited to tryout (no Kickers at this time). Registration will begin at 11 a.m. All participants must pay a non-refundable $50 registration fee on the day of the tryout. The Thunder will only accept cash payments. NO CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS will be accepted. The tryout will begin promptly at noon.
Players participating in the tryout are required to bring athletic shoes suitable for field turf (NO CLEATED SHOES) and wear proper athletic clothing for indoors. Participants will be tested in the 40 yard dash, 20 yard short shuttle and a series of non-contact position drills.
