2009 JetHawks Promotions Schedule To Feature New Daily Specials, Prize Giveaways, Fireworks and More

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks, Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros, are continuing its development as the best family and sports entertainment venue in the Antelope Valley with the release of its promotional schedule for the 2009 season. Along with great baseball, the JetHawks will present all new activities, prizes, giveaways, and special discounts each and every day throughout the baseball season. Events will cater to fans of all ages and backgrounds, including special family days, the Faith Community, scout nights, school trip day games, theme nights, as well as games dedicated to the Antelope Valley's rich Latino heritage.
The events will debut throughout opening week, which begins Monday, April 13 when the JetHawks host the Inland Empire 66ers, farm club of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The week will include magnet schedule giveaways and brand new promotions giving fans a chance to win thousands of dollars in cash. The week culminates with the first Friday Night Fireworks Spectacular and a JetHawks hat giveaway on Saturday.
Military Appreciation Weekend has become a major attraction in the early part of the season. This year's celebration will take place May 22-23 and includes a Friday Night Fireworks show, JetHawks mini-bat giveaway and a family sleepover on Saturday.
The Antelope Valley's best annual Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular will take place following the JetHawks game on Friday, July 3.
Of course, the JetHawks are known all across the baseball world for the annual Aerospace Appreciation Weekend. This season on August 14, 15 and 16, the JetHawks will honor the crews of the legendary SR-71 jet. The weekend events will include a Friday Night Fireworks Show and the traditional Aerospace Legends Bobblehead Doll, a highly sought after collectible, on Saturday Night. The doll will actually be a model of the SR-71. Open the cockpit hatch, and the pilot's head will bobble out!
Other great giveaway items this season will include a minor league baseball pin, a JetHawks Southern Division Championship team portrait, an environmentally friendly car shade, a bobblehead doll featuring JetHawks mascot KaBoom dressed as a character from the hit television show Scrubs, t-shirts, youth jerseys, and a team poster and more.
Several recurring promotions will offer unique discounts, games, and contests to JetHawks fans. Lancaster will turn into Hollywood for several celebrity appearances at Clear Channel Stadium. Sundays at the Park will allow families access to the field to play catch before JetHawks games, along with a special picnic. "Viva Los Hacones" nights will honor our local Latino population and will spotlight the many great players of Latino descent who have played in Lancaster. There will also be two morning games for kids, scout night sleepovers, movie nights, and theme nights throughout the season.
In addition to these great promotions, the team will also be hosting the following popular weekday events:
- Feed Your Face Mondays: For only $10, receive a Reserve Section game ticket and all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, peanuts and popcorn ($6 for Season Ticket Holders).
- Deuces Wild Tuesdays presented by Diamond Jim's Casino: A brand new Tuesday night contest will give fans at each game an opportunity to roll the dice with chance to win $40,000!
- Winning Wednesdays: In another new promotion, JetHawks staffers will be tossing exciting prizes into the crowd including JetHawks and Astros gear, gift certificates from local restaurants, and more!
- Cheers Buck Beers Thursdays presented by Coach's Sports Bar/$1000 Thursday sponsored by Beaven Insurance: This popular tradition returns for a third year with $1 domestic draft beer through the sixth inning and a chance to win $1,000!
- Friday Night Family Fun Pack: The fun pack is back! For only $7 per person (minimum four people), families receive a Reserve Section ticket, hot dog, soda and fun zone credit.
