Tampa Bay Storm News Release
Tampa - The Arena Football League Board of Directors met late Wednesday night and voted not to suspend the 2009 AFL season.
"This is a big step in the right direction for the fans, players and our league," said Majority Owner Dr. Bob Nucci. "Additionally, we are excited about our continuing relationship with the St. Pete Times Forum."
"I am very excited about the Board of Directors decision, yet very disappointed in the actions of some of our member teams that reported erroneously the 2009 season would be postponed," said general manager Tim Marcum. "We have a lot of work to do, but this has been a good day for our fans, players, coaches and ownership."
The Tampa Bay Storm look forward to the return of many key players including All-Arena defensive lineman Tim McGill, quarterback Brett Dietz, wide receivers Hank Edwards and Tyrone Timmons. For 2009 Storm season ticket information please call 813.301.6600.
