TAMPA - The 2008 training camp came to an end Saturday and with a well deserved rest on Sunday the players open with their first practice of the 2008 season on Monday as they report for meetings at 9:00 a.m.

On the final day of training camp the team focused on the running game. With what may be the biggest offensive line in team history (Tom Kaleita 6- 6, 315, Marcus Owen 6-3, 345, Kenyatta Jones 6-3, 300, Randy Hand 6-6 325, Emannual Akah 6-3, 330 and Geir Gudmundsen 6-4, 315) and a rule change that allows the jack linebacker to move horizontally on the snap, an emphasis on goal-line run situations was the primary focus.

The work went well as the offense improved its performance in goal-line situations and has made progress since the start of training camp. "We needed extra work to get some things right," said head coach and general manager Tim Marcum.

Along with the extra work on the run schemes came extra snaps at all positions as the team made several roster moves Saturday reducing the roster to 30 players. "It is part of the game," said second-year defensive back Khalid Naziruddin. "You don't let it get you down, you prepare and stay focused."
