WESTPORT, Conn. (Thursday, January 19, 2006) - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) has announced that Milwaukee Wave head coach Keith Tozer and St. Louis Steamers head coach Omid Namazi have been selected to coach the 2006 MISL All-Stars at the 2006 MISL All-Star Game at Milwaukee's U.S. Cellular Arena on Saturday, February 11, 2006. For the first time, the League's signature mid-season event will feature a collection of MISL All-Stars competing against the Mexican Federation's National Futbol Rapido team. Tozer and Namazi were selected for this honor as their teams are currently tied for first-place in the MISL standings, with 9-3 records.

Both Tozer and Namazi are former MISL Coach of the Year honorees and both have won MISL Championships. Tozer, in the midst of his 22nd season of head coaching in professional indoor soccer, is the winningest coach in the sport's history in North America with 596 victories. The Gross, Point, Mich., native has earned 377 of those wins with the Wave since taking over head coaching duties prior to the 1992-93 season, and has led the Wave to four League Championships (1998, 2000, 2001, 2005). He received Coach of the Year recognition following the League's 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2003 seasons. He has served as the head coach on eight League All-Star teams, most recently in 2004 when he leveled his coaching record at 4-4 as the Tozer-led MISL USA All-Stars defeated the MISL International All-Stars in St. Louis.

Namazi is in his first season with St. Louis, and has a Steamers team that finished with a .500 record last season, at 9-3, after winning eight of their last nine games. Namazi, who began this, his eighth season of League head coaching experience, was named the MISL Coach of the Year following last season when he led the Cleveland Force to the MISL Championship Series Finals, where they lost a pair of 10-9 overtime games live on ESPN2, and dropped the 2005 MISL Championship to Tozer's Milwaukee Wave. Namazi, who like Tozer was also a highly-regarded professional indoor player, was the League's Defender of the Year in 2001 and won an MISL Championship as Philadelphia's player-coach in 2002. This will be Namazi's second All-Star Game as a head coach. His previous experience came in 2001 when he and then-Baltimore head coach, and current general manager Kevin Healey led the American Conference to a narrow win over the National Conference in Buffalo.

MISL players representing the League at the Cousins Subs 2006 MISL All-Star Weekend, presented by Time Warner Cable, were released Wednesday. A complete listing of those players, in addition to the names of several MISL players selected represent their native Mexico can be found on www.MISL.net.
