
100 Team Representatives Attend ECHL Meetings

PRINCETON, N.J. - More than 100 representatives from ECHL teams, including team presidents, general managers and various owners, attended the 15th Annual Sales, Marketing and Communications Meetings at The M Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. on June 16-17, 2010.
ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna provided his annual "State of the ECHL" address while Chairman of the ECHL Board of Governors Steve Chapman was also a featured speaker.
Rich Libero of Comcast SportsNet gave the keynote address on New Media, highlighting current trends and its impact on the sports industry.
Bill Makris of the Edmonton Oilers spoke on generating leads, retention and renewal of ticket holders and time management while Steve Delay of Mandalay Sports Consulting/Baseball Properties spoke about creating and executing strategy. Makris and Delay also led the discussion during Ticket Sales 101 Bootcamp and Practical Session.
Keith Wells of SendToNews.com and Jeanette Ehnerd and Bob Masewicz of Total Sports Entertainment presented new opportunities available to ECHL teams for efficient media coverage and game operations, respectively.
Team representatives participated in discussion groups on a variety of subjects including social media, game operations and group and promotional nights.
For the sixth year in a row, AMI Graphics, the "Exclusive Signage Company of the ECHL", awarded a complete set of dasher board graphics and under-ice graphics to an attending team, which was won by the Las Vegas Wranglers for the 2010-11 season.
The annual vendor's showcase provided an opportunity for teams to view products from league vendors and licensees while Reebok-CCM sponsored the welcome reception and SP Apparel sponsored the food and beverage breaks.
The week concluded with the ECHL Job Fair, presented by TeamWork Online. Over 25 candidates from across the country and Canada, along with 12 ECHL teams, attended the fair with multiple candidates being offered a job.
